Shopping Channels
As well as shopping on line, do you shop for things on shopping channels on the television? We have Sky television and there are so many shopping channels that you could spend your whole day watching them and literally shop from the comfort of your sofa! My preference is for QVC, particularly their clothes programmes and beauty channel. I confess to watching Ruth Langsford fashion every week and I have bought a faux suede jacket from her range, which I have received a few compliments for when I’ve worn it!
Not all the clothes on QVC from the various designers are good – some have very garish patterns and are not very stylish but I do like Ruth’s range of clothing and am tempted to buy more from her range as she caters for ‘ladies of a certain age’ and is very hands-on with the designing of them, making sure that comfort is key and that the clothes hit at the right spot on your body. QVC also offers staggered payments on some items of clothing and they have clothes on sale sometimes too. You can also wear an item for 60 days and still return it if it’s not to your liking. You can purchase direct from QVC’s website of course, but I enjoy seeing clothes and products demonstrated on models before I buy, and information given about the product. I first heard of Liz Earle skin products from QVC and used them for many years.
Well known brands that sell on QVC are: Joules, White Stuff, Phase Eight,Monsoon, Skechers, Clarks Shoes, Radley and Dune. There are many more, as well as QVC’s own brand – Centigrade, which does good quality coats apparently.
Do I recommend using shopping channels? Yes definitely, particularly given QVC’s return policy.
