On My Summer Wish List…..
Summertime is here and, although I do have quite a lot of summer clothes, there are a few items on my wish list I would still like to buy which will last longer than just this summer.
Dress
Not a floral dress this time, although I do like them, but I’m looking for a midi-length, straightish, cream coloured, linen mix button through dress. This style of dress is classic and elegant and should last for a few years without looking out dated. Quite difficult to find one but here are a couple I found: The top one is from Apricot: https://www.apricotonline.co.uk/.
The other dress is from River Island: https://www.riverisland.com/c/women/dresses
Denim Skirt
I like a denim skirt as you can put virtually any top with them, in any colour. I don’t like denim skirts with a split up the front, or ones that are too stiff or too dark. I like mid-wash, soft denim. Again, hard to find but I saw this one from Crew Clothing at M & S. Sold out in my size though: https://www.marksandspencer.com/
Wide Leg Trousers
I’ve so far avoided this style of trousers as they can often look baggy. However, I’m coming around to them and feel that they have a relaxed vibe to them for summer. Here are some from Marks & Spencer I like:
Shorts
Are you ever too old for shorts? Well, no if you choose shorts which flatter your shape. Many shorts are unflattering as they are not cut very well, so I prefer to choose more tailored shorts which are not too short! These are again from Marks & Spencer.
White Trainers
White trainers go with most things so are a useful item of footwear to have in your wardrobe. I like white trainers that are not too orthopaedic looking such as these by Veja. They are white with off white trim. They are expensive at 155 GBP but they look stylish and again, you can purchase them online from Marks & Spencer
As you can see, the above items are fairly basic and should go from summer season to summer season without looking outdated. They would also integrate with many things already in my wardrobe, which is key when you are looking to purchase an item of clothing.
