Basic Essentials – Denim Jacket
Is a denim jacket really a basic essential item of clothing? In my opinion – yes! It is an item of clothing that will go with so many things in your wardrobe. And yes, you can still wear a denim jacket when you are in your 50s, 60s, 70s and beyond.
The only time of year you most likely can’t wear a denim jacket is in the winter but it can be layered under a coat if you wish. Feel free to wear your denim jacket in the spring and autumn when it’s mild outside, and in the summer months when the need calls for it – over a dress, trousers, jumpsuit, skirt etc. I’m not personally a fan of double denim though, so if you want to wear a denim jacket with jeans, choose black, white or a colour other than denim blue. The alternative is to wear two different shades of denim. Denim or jean jackets also come in other colours – try black, white, red, green and I’m sure there are lots more you could choose.
Here are three ways to wear a denim jacket:
With a skirt
With trousers
With a dress
A denim jacket in your wardrobe should last you many years and never really go out of date as you can wear it in such a variety of ways.
